REGULAR DTF TRANSFER PRESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Pre-Press 300°F 3-5 Seconds
Pre-Pressing the T-Shirt DTF does not require to be a t-shirt of course, but whatever you're going to apply your DTF transfer to should be smooth. Any wrinkles will show up in the print! More importantly a Pre-Press will completely dry the material. You'd be surprised how much moisture fabric can absorb from humidity in the air, and that would affect print quality.
Step 2: Press 300°F for 10-15 seconds with Medium Pressure. 285°F for polyesters & 260°F for sensitive fabrics.
Applying the DTF Transfer Once you've made a direct to film transfer you do NOT need to use it right away. Like most other kinds of transfers, they store well. That's why so many small businesses focus on just selling the transfers themselves! The PET film with the image and the melted powder is placed on the pre-pressed material in the heat press.
Step 3: Immediately Peel
Peel DTF Transfer Instant Peel DTF is an Immediate HOT PEEL (sometimes will also peel itself when the platen lifts open).
*NOTE* Some heat presses might not be calibrated correctly and can cause issues if not. If a heat press is at a temperature hotter than 320°F the coating on the DTF film can bond to the ink and cause issue by not peeling. The film is built to be a HOT Instant Peel, if you have an issue with peeling try lowering your heat press temperature between 260-285°F.
Step 4: Cover & Re-Press 300°F 4-5 Seconds
Direct to Film Finishing Press This is a crucial step, and you should definitely do it on every garment application. Use a teflon sheet or parchment paper to cover. This cures the DTF Ink.
